BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans calls for judge to be axed as points row erupts

Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts are calling for one of the judges to be sacked after they allegedly 'over-scored' a flawed performance. During tonight's Strictly, Blackpool week made a dazzling comeback.

Pete Wicks and his dance partner Jowita Przystal performed the Cha Cha to Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy, with Pete donning skintight pink PVC trousers. The routine didn't win over the audience or judge Craig Revel Horwood, who told Pete it was "very unco-ordinated" and "you were behind musically" before dishing out a score of just four points.

Motsi Mabuse said: "I loved it for all the wrong reasons. I would watch it over and over. I'm still trying to figure out whats happening here."

But a flustered Shirley Ballas was impressed, awarding Pete and Jowita an eight. She told Pete: "You had some very good isolation, you had a very good neck line....Your hips were swinging left and right.

"It was very entertaining. I don't think I'm going to forget this evening for a long time."

Fans were quick to express their displeasure on social media, criticising Shirley for overlooking Pete's errors. One fan posted: "Need Shirley to leave after this series. So f****** unprofessional. Pete gets 'very entertaining' for that."

Another commented: "Shirley losing all credibility as a judge." A different user added: "No matter what Pete does Shirley praises him."

And another stated: "I need Shirley's head judge status removed."

In a chat with The Sun, Shirley Ballas said she would stay at the show for as long as she was wanted. She said: "You know, I'm not going anywhere as long as the BBC would like to have me.

"I judge without fear or favour. I'm just someone who sits in that chair as head judge to stay in my lane and judge the dancing - legs, feet, body co-ordination, synchronisation and chemistry between the leader and the follower."
