Dianne's parents, Rina and Mark, had travelled from Australia to spend some time with their daughter, marking their first visit to the UK in seven years to watch her compete in the competition.
Host Tess Daly introduced the couple, saying: "I know you've waited seven years for this, to see Dianne live." She then handed the announcement of the dance over to Mark in a special moment.
He told the audience: "Dancing the paso doble is Chris and our dot Dianne." Their visit came after Mark finished his six-month chemotherapy treatment for an unspecified type of cancer in April.
