BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks shares ban from partner Jowita and says 'not allowed'

by · Birmingham Live

Strictly pro Jowita Przysta has imposed a surprising ban on her dance partner Pete Wicks. The former TOWIE star made the admission as he appeared on his podcast Staying Relevant.

With Pete's usual podcast co-host, Sam Thompson, away in Australia for I'm A Celebrity Unpacked, Jowita stepped in for the latest edition. Pete made a candid revelation about being banned from alcohol, confessing: "I will not be drinking because I am not allowed."

He added: "Currently, my dance wife has told me that I'm not allowed to drink. But I will be swearing more than ever in this episode, I can feel it in my bones."

As Strictly Come Dancing enters its 10th week, the buzz is still high from their Blackpool Tower performance. Ahead of reaching this landmark stage, Pete paid a heartfelt homage to Jowita following a routine honouring his late grandmother Doreen on the BBC show.

Pete publicly thanked his professional partner, acknowledging he's "beyond grateful" for her steadfast support during the competition. He expressed: "I don't know what to say...I ain't always very good at talking about emotions but I wanted to thank every single one of you that voted last night or just resonated with our dance.

"We all lose people we love, it's life...but someone once told me 'don't let the death of someone be the death of you' and it's stuck in my head. My nan was my best friend and she would have loved watching me try and dance every Saturday night."

"This was just my way of sharing this experience with her. It wasn't about the show or getting to Blackpool, it was just a thank you to my mum and my nan.

"I'm humbled by all of your kind words and support. Next week is for Jowita, she has given me so much over the past couple of months and I know how important it is for her to be able to dance again in Blackpool."
