Sophie Turner, best known for her work as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, is reportedly taking strides towards playing the role of Lara Croft in the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider TV series from Amazon Prime. Deadline reports the two parties are "in negotiations" to hash out a deal that would see Turner star as the famous dual pistol-wielding explorer, a move that would see her bring to life a script written by Phoebe-Waller Bridge.

Very few other details concerning the project have been made public, with a release date not yet set. At the time of the official announcement back in May, Bridge said: "Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats 'n all." Tomb Raider has also just been adapted into an anime series from Netflix, which we said "does a good job of moving the character’s story arc forward".

While the role of Sansa Stark is what Sophie Turner is most famous for, the actor has also played Jean Grey in two X-Men films and starred in various TV shows across multiple roles, many of which as the lead. For her work in Game of Thrones, she's won awards as the Best Global Actress, Best UK TV Actress, and Best Supporting Actress in years past.
