Fog on the Tyne in 21 stunning pictures on chilly November morning in Newcastle
by Catherine Addison-Swan · ChronicleLiveAs the old Lindisfarne hit goes, "The fog on the Tyne is all mine, all mine" - and it was all of the Quayside's this morning as an eerie shroud fell on the river.
The iconic Tyne and Millennium bridges were enveloped in fog early on Thursday morning as the region got off to a chilly start, making quite a sight for those travelling through Newcastle and Gateshead on their way to work.
Sunshine managed to break through the fog as the week's pleasant weather continued across the North East - but the Met Office has warned of a "gear change" next week that could see snow arrive in many parts of the UK.
The weekend will see colder, windier and wetter weather move in, forecasters said, bringing the potential for "frequent wintry showers" in the north. The early look ahead to next week shows daytime temperatures falling to single figures in the North East with highs of just 5°C, while it could plummet to as low as -5°C overnight.
With more dramatic weather conditions likely on the way as winter arrives, take a look through our photo gallery below to see the fog on the Tyne.
