One of the globe's most sought-after travel destinations, attracting millions of tourists annually, might not live up to the hype.

A study by kingcasinobonus.uk, which delved into online reviews from a leading tourist ratings website, has revealed the top ten cities that may be considered the world's most overhyped.

Amongst the list of well-known and frequented locales, Bangkok emerged as the city that tops the chart. The research found that 18.4 percent of visitors were underwhelmed, feeling that this famed destination did not meet their expectations.

Online feedback suggests that Thailand's bustling capital is notorious for its dense crowds and less-than-crystal-clear river waters. Khaosan Road, a magnet for backpackers, was singled out for being overly commercialised.

TripAdvisor forum posts have branded Bangkok as "overrated" and too congested. Even the local cuisine didn't escape criticism, with some tourists finding the Boat Noodles and Pad Thai disappointing in quality despite their affordability, reports the Mirror.

Toronto claimed the second spot, with an astonishing 186.8 percent of visitors reporting a sense of disillusionment. The CN Tower stood out as the city's most underwhelming feature, with complaints about the city's high costs and lengthy queues for attractions.
