Edinburgh Airport plane 'incident' after takeoff as ground crews scrambled
The FedEx plane took off from the capital's airport at around 8.15pm on Thursday before circling and landing again after an incident occurred.

The FedEx airfreight plane took off from Edinburgh Airport at around 8.15pm, circled back and landed again, with the airport's emergency response team on standby as a "precaution".
The plane landed safely and the emergency team was dismissed "a short time later". The specifics of the incident remain unknown.
A spokesperson for Edinburgh Airport stated: "Our response procedures were stood up as a precaution for a returning aircraft on Thursday evening.

"The flight landed safely and our teams were stood down a short time later."
British Airways flight BA1454 from London Heathrow also had to circle the airport multiple times before landing, resulting in a delay from its scheduled 7.40pm arrival to approximately 8.40pm, reports Edinburgh Live.
An anonymous local resident reported: "FedEx Boeing 737-400 took off just after 8.15pm and circled before landing again, with emergency vehicles waiting."
