A man has been rushed to hospital where he remains in a serious condition after an incident in a Scots town.

Around 10.10pm on September 27, cops were called to reports of a 66-year-old found seriously injured on Lynedoch Street in Greenock.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the scene is currently closed by police while a probe is carried out.

Detective Sergeant Jamie McAteer said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of this incident and anyone who was in the area around this time is asked to contact police.

“We would also ask motorists to check their dash-cam footage as well as anyone with CCTV, which may have captured anything from around this time, to get in touch.”
