Roadworks will be taking place on one of the main roads in Dumfries and Galloway next month.

Amey is planning to resurface a stretch of the A75 Euroroute near Newton Stewart.

Work is due to take place from 7pm to 6am each night at Blackcraigs from Tuesday, January 14 to Friday, January 31 – although there will be no works on the evenings of January 19 and 26.

An Amey spokeswoman said: “This work will require overnight convoys.

“Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

“Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

“This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.”
