The rink area of Kelowna's Stuart Park has been temporarily closed this week for some minor repairs.

Temporary fencing now surrounds the large concrete pad in the park, which is home to the downtown ice rink in the winter months.

City of Kelowna spokesperson Marnie Douglas says there will be some concrete repair work taking place in the area, along with re-caulking around the benches and tables in the park.

The work is expected to take no more than two weeks, but Douglas says they don't have an exact completion date at this time.

The outdoor ice sheet usually opens to the public in late November or early December, depending on temperatures in the city.
