Magical National Trust setting to host festive mini-markets

by · PlymouthLive

National Trust's stunning Buckland Abbey is set to host a series of Mini Winter Markets on weekends throughout November. These markets will feature 15 stalls from local businesses and artists in the small barn and visitor welcome area, with vendors rotating each weekend to offer a diverse range of seasonal treats and gift ideas.

Visitor Operations and Experience Manager, Eleanor Hopkinson, said: "It's a slightly smaller affair this year as we set up the big Christmas display in the Great Barn, but we're excited to welcome visitors to a series of cosy and festive weekends throughout November."

In addition to the markets, local choirs and performers will provide daily entertainment, and a winter treelore trail will be set up in the woodland at Buckland for visitors to uncover the mystical secrets of native trees.

Buckland Abbey will be closed on weekdays throughout November as preparations are made for the Viking Yule Christmas display, which opens on Saturday 30 November and runs until Tuesday 31 December.

The Mini Winter Markets will take place on 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 November from 10am 4pm each day. Winter admission prices apply, with free entry for members, reports Devon Live.
