Revisit Plymouth with 40 photos from the 1980s

by · PlymouthLive

For those who resided in Plymouth during the 1980s, this gallery is sure to stir up some nostalgia. For those who didn't, prepare for a journey back in time to see how the city looked four decades ago.

We've rummaged through the PlymouthLive and Herald archives to bring you a nostalgic trip down memory lane. All of the images date between 1980 and 1989.

The collection of 43 photos includes family portraits, children delighting in park play with a homemade go kart, and snapshots of various parts of the city, such as Pembroke Street during a parking issue - a memory that will likely resonate with residents from 1988.

Included are also images of the now non-existent Bretonside Bus Station and Tramps Cafeteria. The gallery also features Ridgeway and Crownhill, showcasing some of the shops we've lost over the years.

So, sit back and enjoy browsing through our photo collection below. You may need to click 'next' at the bottom of the page to view the next set of images.
