Marks and Spencer shoppers are gearing up for another cold and blustery winter with a £69 coat that could easily be mistaken for something far more expensive. The lightweight 'but extremely cosy' weather resistant coat is perfect for wearing on the daily commute, doing the school run or walking the dog in the next few months.

That's because the Thermowarmth Diamond Quilted Padded Coat has been expertly crafted to keep you snug as a bug when the temperature drops. It's made in a regular fit with a zip fastening and a high collar for extra protection against the elements.

The coat is available in sizes six to 24 as well as in four colourways including black, mocha, beige and midnight navy. it feature the retailer's Thermowarmth wadding to keep wearers warm as well as Stormwear technology to provide a water-repellent finish to help you stay dry in light showers. It's finished off with fleece lining in the two welt pockets and the concealed internal zip deliver extra insulation.

The M&S Collection comes in at £69 but we think it looks seriously more expensive. In fact, while not 100% identical, it shares a striking similarity with Lululemon's Wunder Puff Long Jacket. If you were to opt for the designer piece it would set you back a cool £348, making it almost £280 more expensive than Marks and Spencer's version.

It's not just who likes the Thermowarmth Diamond Quilted Padded Coat, either. It boasts an overall star-rating of 4.8 out of from over 40 reviews. One shopper said: "Quality, deliciously warm coat. Stylish and the colour is beautiful."

A second wrote: "A lovely, warm padded coat with hood. I bought the cream/beige one which goes with anything. Fleecy pockets and double-ended zip. True to size amd good value for money."

Somebody else mentioned: "Stylish, well made and surprisingly flattering. Excellent value for money too. I haven’t worn it outdoors yet as the weather hasn’t been cold enough. I could tell from trying it on though that it will be very cosy and warm on wintry days."

The Thermowarmth Diamond Quilted Padded Coat doesn't have many negative reviews, but one shopper did give it a two-star rating because it's 'shapeless'. They said: "Not much difference between size 12 and 14. I'm 5ft 3ins, coat was far too voluminous on me and shapeless. Didn't like position of pockets Coat would be very cosy in colder weather but not for me. Will be returning them."

But another loved their latest M&S purchase, adding: "Lightweight, but extremely cosy. Large lined pockets and a small inside pocket. The coat is perfect."
