An American YouTuber has revealed two things about Manchester that really impressed him on his first visit to the UK city.

Joel, chronicling his excursion across the UK's towns and cities via his YouTube channel ItsJps, recently made Manchester his port of call. Here, he delved into some of the finest sights the city offers.

He kicked off his Mancunian adventure with a stop at the famous Trof pub in the Northern Quarter.

It was there that Joel experienced the British Sunday roast for the first time. He shared: "Overall it was delicious. The Yorkshire pudding had an ungodly amount of butter in it, but it was delicious. The gravy was the best part, that's what really made the Sunday roast."

Joel continued: "Those veggies just hit way better when that gravy is good, otherwise you taste the Brussels sprouts too much. I love this restaurant, it has such a cool vibe," reports the Manchester Evening News.

During his indulgence in the iconic British fare, he expressed admiration for the local accent, comparing it to a beloved British sitcom: "This kid that was sitting next to me, he was getting ready to leave and pay his bill, so he was talking to the waitress and he sounded so similar to how the cast of the Royle Family speak."

However, Joel was most taken aback by the noticeable difference in cost compared to the capital: "I like the prices, much cheaper than London, there's no doubt about that."

The American, geared up for the infamously grim English weather, was pleasantly caught off guard by the conditions in Manchester, admitting: "Something extremely surprising about so far Manchester, has been the weather. It has been 25-26C."
