After Storm Bert UK weather maps show Brits set for -2C chill as temperatures plunge

Brits are being warned a countrywide chill is on the way. UK Weather maps have predicted many will see below zero temperatures, in some cases as little as -2C.

It comes after Storm Bert saw the country battered by extensive snow, rain and wind. In the West Midlands, heavy downpours saw places like Walsall battling flooding.

Now, according to The Mirror, things could be set to get worse. While severe weather will subside, weather maps show parts of the country will remain bracingly cold.

Recent maps from WXCharts, a service which uses data from MetDesk, have turned blue. They show Wales will see chilly lows around November 28.

But the entire nation will face temperature dips, with average overnight lows of around -2C. The maps suggest it will become warmer over the rest of the day, rising to a still chilly 5C everywhere aside from high-elevation Snowdonia.

The long term UK forecast for the Met Office also expected cold weather. It read: “Into December, and while signals are mixed, it looks most likely that high pressure may re-assert itself close to or over the UK, with temperatures generally near average, but some overnight frost is likely, and rather cold by day where any fog persists.”
