M6 crash causing '60 minute' delays as miles of queues build towards Birmingham
by Naomi DeSouza, https://www.facebook.com/naomicovlive · Birmingham LiveMorning commuters have been warned of "major disruption" this morning, Thursday November 14, as a result of a double lorry crash on the M6. The incident is causing "severe delays" on the motorway network in the West Midlands this morning, with drivers warned of 60 minute delays.
The cause of the disruption is reported to be a crash involving two HGVs on the M6 northbound close to junction 6, which is the exit for Birmingham city centre. West Midlands Ambulance were at the scene this morning, but the nature of injuries, if any, is currently unclear.
M6, A38 and Birmingham city centre drivers are all affected. Travel time to get between junction 6 Birmingham city centre and junction 7 is 60 minutes, however there has been a wider knock on effect on the network, with five miles of queues reported by National Highways West Midlands.
