Emergency services rushed to the scene and helped the casualties alongside members of the hospital staff. Local road closures were put in place and there were traffic delays in the area around the Caldwell Lane entrance.

Crews have lifted the vehicle and both casualties are now clear and being assessed by the ambulance service."

Police said: "Officers would like to thank hospital staff for their assistance in managing the scene and members of the public visiting the hospital for their patience."
