Air ambulance lands at serious A-road crash in Devon

A biker has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash this morning, Friday, October 4. Police were called to the scene on the A388 around 11.15am following a bike crash.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the single-vehicle crash at St Giles on the Heath. A male motorcyclist has sustained a potentially serious leg and arm injuries.

The biker was taken to Derriford Hospital by the ambulance service. The A388 remains closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has said: "Police were called at 11:15am today, Friday 4 October, to reports of a single vehicle collision on the A388 at St Giles on the Heath.

"A male motorcyclist has sustained potentially serious leg and arm injuries and has been taken to Derriford Hospital by the ambulance service. An air ambulance was also in attendance.

"The road is closed in both directions and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area."
