Pedestrian taken to hospital after crash with van near Newton Abbot McDonald's

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after a crash in Newton Abbot this morning (Wednesday, November 20). The collision took place near the McDonald's restaurant on Keyberry Road.

Police were called to the scene at about 7.20am and the road was closed. It has been confirmed that the collision involved a pedestrian and a van.

The male pedestrian was taken to hospital with injuries not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Meanwhile, the van driver was reported for driving without due care.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We received a report from the ambulance service of a collision involving a van and a pedestrian in Keyberry Road, Newton Abbot, at around 7.20am. The male pedestrian was taken to hospital with injuries not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"The motorist in the van has been reported to court for driving without due care. The road was fully reopened by 9.30am."
