Woman in water sparks concern in Exeter
by Shannon Brown · DevonLiveA woman has been rescued from a river in Exeter. Emergency services were called reports of concern for the welfare of a woman in the water off Bonhay Road.
Devon and Cornwall Police received reports shortly before 1pm today (Wednesday, November 20). The South Western Ambulance Service and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene.
A spokesperson for the police force said the woman was escorted from the water by firefighters before being taken into the care of paramedics.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at around 12.55pm on Wednesday 20 November following a concern for welfare for a woman in the water off Bonhay Road in Exeter. The ambulance and fire services were both also called.
"Emergency services attended and the woman was escorted from the water by firefighters and left in the hands of the ambulance crew."
