Thermal clouds may cause isolated heavy falls and strong winds from October 3 to 6: DMH

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced that isolated heavy rains and strong winds may occur in some areas from the afternoon of October 3 to 6 due to the development of thermal clouds.

According to the forecast made by the DMH at 12:30 pm on October 3, due to the speed of the whirlwind waves moving from the west, the strong development of thermal clouds and the speed of the low pressure area occurring in the southeast of Bangladesh, rain and thundershowers will be widespread in the upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin, and Rakhine states from the afternoon of October 3 to 6 and there will be regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy rains along with strong winds in some areas.

In addition, natural disasters such as strong winds, flash floods and landslides accompanied by heavy rain can occur and those live near the highlands are at risk of landslides and people who live near small rivers and small streams need to be cautious as floods may occur. The DMH has issued a notification in advance and to alert domestic shipping and aviation.

Weather is cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in northern Shan, Kayah states, fairly widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago regions and widespread in the remaining regions and states with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine states till the morning of October 4. Degree of certainty is 100%.

The cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi regions and northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon states. The area along the cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

In the next two days, State it is reported that there will be more rain in the upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine states.
