IIT Hyderabad has joined hands with Nikon India, a subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, to establish the 'Nikon Centre of Excellence' (CoE) on its campus.
This cutting-edge facility is designed to provide advanced imaging technologies and support innovative research for researchers, visiting scholars, and collaborators across India.
Professor BS Murty, Director of IIT Hyderabad, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, stating, “This partnership with Nikon India aligns with our vision to foster innovation and create diverse learning opportunities."
"The Centre will act as a catalyst, inspiring researchers and students to push the boundaries of scientific discovery across various domains," he added.
NIKON CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE DETAILS
The CoE is aiming to enhance the study of biological systems at multiple scales, from individual cells to complex human tissues, covering the way for advancements in high-resolution imaging.
It will serve as a hub for strengthening breakthroughs in diverse research areas, including cell biology, tissue engineering, and biomedical sciences.
Equipped with advanced Nikon instruments, the Centre features the Ti2-E inverted microscope for fluorescence imaging, the TS2FL inverted tissue culture microscope for detailed cellular studies, and the SMZ 800 with a fluorescence attachment for macro imaging.
These tools will enable researchers to conduct cutting-edge experiments with unparalleled precision and clarity.
By leveraging state-of-the-art equipment, technical expertise, and academic collaboration, the Nikon CoE at IIT Hyderabad is set to become a leading hub for imaging research, addressing critical challenges in biological sciences and beyond.
