No emergency department

The emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital will be temporarily closed due to limited staff availability.

Merritt residents will need to travel to Royal Inland Hospital to seek emergency medical attention as this service will be unavailable in Merritt from 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 to 8 a.m. Monday Sept. 30.

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility, says Interior Health.

Royal Inland Hospital is located at 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops.
