Drive to improve public toilets launched

Minister for Local Self-Governments M.B. Rajesh on Wednesday inaugurated the Suchitwa Mission’s campaign to improve the cleanliness standards of public toilets in the State. The survey activities for this purpose has also begun. Mr. Rajesh said that the government is giving high priority for steps to ensure more people-friendly public toilets.

Along with this, steps will be taken to ensure that toilet facilities are available in every household and septage treatment facilities are set up in every district.

The local bodies will conduct ground-level surveys to identify beneficiaries for the toilet project, for which each beneficiary will be provided ₹15,400.
