Celebrate centenary of Ambedkar’s visit to Nippani, Jolle tells govt

Karnataka is set for another centenary celebration. This year happens to be the centenary year of the visit of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to Nippani, according to BJP MLA Shashikala Jolle.

Ms. Jolle, who represents Nippani in the Legislative Assembly, said that Dr. Ambedkar who had visited Chikkodi to attend to the local court, had stayed in Nippani. “Dr. Ambedkar had stayed in the house of one Varle in Nippani and had held two meetings there, she said.

She appealed to the government to organise a programme on the lines of that being organised to mark the centenary visit of Mahatma Gandhi to Belagavi.
