A new brainteaser is so difficult to crack that only the “quickest and sharpest” people can get to the bottom of it.

The festive season is upon us with Christmas Day in over a month. Despite the darker nights, it’s often dubbed “the most wonderful time of the year” - which could be down to the fact it’s typically when family and friends are more able to set aside the daily grind and get some much needed quality time together.

This sometimes results in a games' night, with puzzles and challenging board games brought out of the cupboards, encouraging friendly competition and witty repartee. With that in mind, prescription glasses retailer Feel Good Contacts, created a seasonal challenge to get people thinking.

The company’s tricky task is to find the discreetly hidden squirrel amid an image featuring an array of autumn leaves. According to the eyewear specialists, just one in four people manage to locate it in less than 15 seconds.

The new brainteaser is quite the head scratcher, thanks to the detailed depiction of various autumnal colours, with a crafty squirrel hidden somewhere inside the foliage. Can you beat the 15-second record? Have a look and see if you can find it:

Similar brainteasers and puzzles have left many people equally confused. On TikTok, one popular video features stereograms, which is a two-dimensional image that appears three-dimensional when viewed correctly.

Posted by Stereogram Paradise, the caption reveals the best way to stand a chance of seeing the images. It reads: “The Ultimate Stereogram Challenge! Can you unlock ALL the hidden images? We've got a whole gallery of mind-bending puzzles for you in this post! Think you can see them all?

“Unlock the 3D magic: 1. Hold your phone at arm's length. 2. Focus on a point **BEHIND** the image, like a wall. 3. Relax your eyes and let the image become blurry. 4. Slowly bring the phone closer while keeping your eyes relaxed. Let us know in the comments how many hidden images you see!”

People shared their thoughts in the comments section. One person lamented: HOW ARE PEOPLE SEEING THESE?!!” While another said: “I didn't see a damn thing…” A third said: “It’s crazy how if you’re seeing one image, you don’t struggle at all to see the next one.”
