by Graeme Murray, Jacob Rawley · The MirrorCats' swishing tails are one of the things which makes them appealing and this brainteaser asks you to spot something which is missing from their bodies.
One cat in this colourful collection of moggies is without a tail. But are you able to spot the animal in question in this head-scratching brainteaser?
There are five rows of cats in the puzzle. But only one of those pictured is missing its tail, and puzzlers are asked to find the moggie as quickly as they can. The Daily Record reports those with a keen eye who can spot disruptions in patterns should look carefully at each row to find the tail-less stand-out.
The image is provided by Cats.com, but you will need to look carefully to find it. You should set a timer and tell us tell us how long it takes you to find the well-hidden cat.
Looking closely at the image, it might help to go row by row, looking at each cat individually, rather than looking at the image as a whole. If you're still struggling, here's a clue: the cat is somewhere in the right-hand side of the image.
For regular brainteaser fans, let's cut options down a little. The cat without a tail isn't pink, nor is it grey. The clue should help you locate it, but it isn't easy to spot.
In another brainteaser published by The Mirror, players were given a riddle to solve. It read: "A special offer allows you to exchange two popsicle sticks for one ice cream. Peter has 20 sticks. How many times can Peter have his free ice cream?"
If you think you've got the answer straight away, it's highly likely you've jumped the gun and made a common mistake. So, while we're not giving away any clues for you, we do recommend that you make sure to read the riddle carefully, and more than once! Feeling stumped, or think you've finally cracked it?
The answer for those struggling with the ice cream teaser was 19. While most people will have assumed the answer is '10' - you need to remember that Peter will receive one stick every time he exchanges two sticks for one ice cream
Brainteasers can be puzzles, problems, or questions designed to stimulate cognitive processes such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and lateral thinking. They often require creative and unconventional approaches to arrive at the correct solution. They come in various forms, including riddles, logic puzzles, maths problems, and word games.
They can be a fun way to challenge and entertain the mind and are often used in educational settings or as recreational activities. They may vary in difficulty, ranging from simple puzzles that can be solved quickly to more complex ones that may require deeper thought and analysis.
