Everyone can see the trees but only people with the highest IQ can spot polar bear
A new visual illusion is putting Brits’ brain power to the test - the trees are easy to see but can you spot the polar bear in under seven seconds amongst the snowy landscape?
by Beth Tanner · The MirrorPeople have been left scratching their heads after trying to work out where the polar bear is in a new brainteaser.
The puzzle, which features a polar bear camouflage against the white snowy backdrop, is a visual illusion that only people with the sharpest eyesight will be able to solve in under seven seconds. Experts from Jagran Josh, where the puzzle was first shared, have explained that only the ‘top five percent of people’ can spot the white bear in the image.
Anyone who can find the sneakily hidden bear has an exceedingly high IQ and hawk-like vision. Spotting the bear in the picture isn’t an easy task - especially within the seven second limit. To make the process a little easier, make sure to start the puzzle when you’re somewhere that you can really focus without being distracted.
This brainteaser is made even more challenging because of how the polar bear is positioned, with its white coat perfectly camouflage amongst the snowy landscape. A useful hack for making cracking this type of visual illusion a little easier is to split the image down into smaller sections and examine each area individually. By splitting the image into sections, it becomes easier to spot the finer details, such as the polar bear’s eyes, nose and claws.
Still struggling to find the solution? The answer can be found more easily if you focus on the left-hand side of the image. It’s also important to be mindful that the polar bear is a lot smaller than the landscape around it, making it more difficult to spot.
These kinds of visual illusions come with a number of cognitive benefits, such as helping to keep your brain sharp. They also test your patience and help to strengthen your ability to focus and work under pressure.
