In pictures: How Storm Bert left communities across Wales underwater

by · Wales Online

The Met Office is launching a review after criticism over its decision to issue yellow weather warnings for Wales, as Storm Bert swept across the UK during the weekend. The storm left devastation in its wake, from flooded homes, to deluged businesses.

Sadly a body was found, following a massive search for 75-year-old Brian Perry, who went missing with his dog near Trefriw as flood waters rose. Ten people - including five children - also had to be rescued from a house in Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, near Llangollen.

Some people have raised concerns in areas such as Pontypridd, where the River Taff broke its banks, with people feeling that they were not given enough warning as they were left trying to salvage what they could from their homes following the floods. One woman nearly got trapped on the ground floor of a house after flooding in Pontypridd, and was one of many people who had been impacted by the floods in the area, which local authorities declared a "major incident."

Here are just some of the pictures taken by our photographers and locals who documented the impact Storm Bert had on communities. Join our WhatsApp news community here for the latest breaking news. You will receive updates from us daily.
