Stunning moonrise captured over Shropshire ahead of 'Beaver Moon'

A photographer captured this stunning image of the moon coming up over the Midland countryside. Andrew Fusek-Peters meticulously planned his shots, taken at Manstone Rock on the Stiperstones ridge in Shropshire, to capture the perfect moment on Thursday night, November 14.

He said: "This sort of work requires huge planning. I used an app called the Photographer's Ephemeris, which gives me a 3D map and shows where the moon will rise relative to my position which is about half a mile down slope from Manstone Rock, the second-highest hill in Shropshire.

"The quartzite outcrops formed in the last ice age and featuring some of the oldest rocks on earth. It is mostly cloudy up there and I was walking back to my car when the clouds suddenly cleared and I had to run nearly a mile to line up moon and rock, carrying a very heavy long telephoto lens."

"Luckily I managed to line up moon and rock just as dusk was settling in and the magic happened."

The celestial display cames ahead of a supermoon which appeared in the skies on Friday night, with the full Beaver Moon rising in the UK at approximately 3.30 pm.
