A mild earthquake, registering 4.5 on the Richter scale, struck near Kyaiklat on the evening of November 20, 2024. The tremor, which occurred at approximately 5:48 PM, was centered about three miles west of Kyaiklat and recorded 42 miles southwest of the Kabar Aye observatory. According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers at coordinates 16.45°N latitude and 95.68°E longitude.
