Admitted killer Scott DeMolitor was in a state of acute psychosis when he beat his mother to death, a judge found Thursday in finding him not criminally responsible by reason of a mental disorder.

Calgary Court of King’s Bench Justice Nancy Dilts ordered DeMolitor to appear before an Alberta Review Board within the next 45 days to determine the next steps in his treatment.
