Holness increases reward fund to $30m for tips on mass shootings
· The GleanerPrime Minister Andrew Holness has announced that a $25 million reward fund which was set up following the Cherry Tree Lane mass shooting in Clarendon has been increased to $30 million.
Speaking on Tuesday following a gun attack in the Waltham Park Road area of St Andrew that left five men dead, Holness said the fund is being repurposed to offer rewards for information on incidents involving multiple killings.
"Anyone who has any information that is valuable to us in leading to the arrest, or giving us information that would lead to the degrading of the gangs, that information would be obviously treated with the care to protect your identity and your security, but you can also benefit from a reward from this fund. So, if you have information let us know, please tell us," Holness urged.
The victims of Monday night's shooting are yet to be identified.
Holness has described the incident as disturbing, stating that it may be gang-related.
