Cat lover is reunited with her pet 19 months after he disappeared

A woman was delighted to be reunited with her lost cat 19 months after he first disappeared.

Sarah Mosley, from Sturrey near Canterbury, thought she would never see her beloved cat Ted after he went missing in May 2023.

But to her shock Ted was found just last week close to his old home.

A picture was shared on social media and Ted was taken to the vets where he had his heart-warming reunion with his owner.

However, Ted's lonely travels have left him in dire need of veterinary treatment as he is now suffering with a bone infection and was described by Sarah as being a skeleton of himself.

Having cancelled Ted's pet insurance, Sarah is now unable to cover a £2,000 vet bill she has been hit with just weeks before Christmas

It also comes as Sarah revealed she has recently been made redundant from her job, adding to her financial predicament.

Sarah said Ted went missing after neighbours began feeding him and one day he never came home.

She said losing her cat was an 'incredible worry' but his return means she can be happy now.

She told KentOnline: 'He's not in a good way, he's very thin. Ted's normally about six and a half kilos and he's three and a half kilos now.

'He's tiny, like basically a skeleton of himself.

'He's got a bad bone infection. They think at the moment it could be that or cancer so we're hoping it's just an infection.'

This is not the first time Ted has disappeared - he previously escaped from the vets and spent six weeks living on an Ashford roundabout.

Sarah has now started a GoFundMe page to try and raise money for Ted's treatment.

On the page, she wrote: 'Well this is my cat Ted. Ted is some miracle cat who after being missing for 19 months has reappeared.

'He isn't in a great state. Aside from being very malnourished (he's now 3.5kg, down from 6.5) he has a problem with his paw.

'After blood tests and x-rays he is thought to have a bad bone infection.

'I had insurance, but I canceled that just over a year ago thinking he would never be found but here we are.

'Unfortunately to top things off, I am being made redundant, equally as I'm not on benefits charities cant help.

'So I have put this out there, if anyone can possibly help with the vet bills to save my boy, id be extremely grateful.

'I'm not expecting anything, even just sending thoughts and prayers would be amazing.'

Ted is current being watched carefully and is recovering at home with Sarah.
