A flight to Moscow was forced to make an emergency landing after an airline safety instructor started a mass brawl on the plane.

Shocking video footage taken onboard the aircraft shows a man wearing a blue t-shirt, believed to be 44-year-old airline safety instructor Ilya, being dragged to the back of the plane by an unnamed man.

A cameraman follows them while other passengers watch on aghast at what has unfolded on their routine flight from Anadyr, in the far east of Russia, to Moscow earlier this month.

The man then kicks Ilya to the ground before he can subdue him, while he continues to shout in Russian.

Then the video cuts to another anonymous man who is being held by cabin crew where he is then restrained using cable ties to bound his hands and legs behind his back.

Russian media reports that eyewitnesses claim the 44-year-old airline safety instructor became extremely aggressive which forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk.

According to firsthand accounts, Ilya was drunk on the flight and started fighting with his airline safety instructor colleagues before fellow passengers were drawn into the heated exchange.

Cabin crew then attempted to calm the situation but Ilya then attempted to hit a flight attendant which escalated the disagreement into a mass brawl 30,000 feet in the sky.

Dzen.ru, a Russian media outlet, reports that Ilya was eventually subdued by the cabin crew with the help of two passengers.

However, because he wouldn't stop verballing threatening the crew the plane was forced to make an emergency landing after Rossiya Airlines decided it was unable to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

Ilya was handed over to the police where he a criminal case has been opened against him accusing him of 'hooliganism.'

It has also been claimed that Rossiya Airlines plans to go to court to recover damages from the troublemaker.
