Hair-raising moment bystanders get too close to bear at ski resort

The moment bystanders got dangerously close to a huge bear while it was on an evening stroll through a ski resort in Canada was caught on video.

The hair-raising video, which was shot by Svitlana Shyliakova, showed people approaching the bear at a perilous distance and recording on their phones while it walked past shops on a ski resort in Whistler, British Columbia.

‘Of course, we had no plans to get close, and we even had bear spray with us just in case,’ Shyliakova told ABC 7

‘Luckily, we didn’t need it.’

But unlike Shyliakova, other bystanders had a different idea - including one man who laughed as the bear lunged towards him, before responding with a growl of his own.

Another man was seen nonchalantly sitting on the banister while the animal casually wandered right under his nose.

The video captured other bystanders, who weren’t as brave, all huddled together behind the door of a nearby store as they watched and filmed the interaction in awe.

The bear didn't seem too bothered, and continued his nighttime walk near the hotel of the resort without hurting anyone.
