Newcastle pervert who carried out sex act outside Sacred Heart school stopped from leaving country

A pervert caught loitering in bushes outside a Fenham primary school carrying out a sex act while children played was stopped from leaving the country illegally.

Alemshah Amin hung around outside Sacred Heart Primary School, in Fenham, Newcastle, for several hours on two days, briefly interacting with a child on one occasion. On both occasions, he stayed until caught by staff.

As we reported last November, when Amin was sentenced for those offences of outraging public decency, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register. One of the requirements of that order is that he is not to leave the country without giving the police at least seven days notice.

On February 27 this year year, members of the public in the departure lounge at Newcastle Airport reported suspicions about Amin because he appeared concerned about police officers being present. He was approached and claimed he had never been in trouble before, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

He was found to be in possession of a one-way ticket to Dubai. He was on bail at the time and due to appear in court for matters which he was subsequently found not guilty of.

Amin, 28, of Lotus Place, Fenham, pleaded guilty to breaching his sex offender notification requirements by failing to notify police of his intention to leave the country. He was jailed for ten months but will be released on licence, having served more than six months on remand.

Jordan Parkinson, defending, said: "He is from Afghanistan and he was going to Dubai then on to Afghanistan. He got a call to say his grandfather was severely unwell. He booked a one-way ticket because he couldn't afford a return and his family were going to book the return ticket."

As we reported last year, when arrested he claimed he had just being going to the toilet despite the fact he could have walked to his home in just one minute. Anne Richardson, prosecuting, told the court at that hearing: "On two occasions he loitered in the vicinity of the school for several hours, hiding in bushes around the site and masturbating while looking into the school yard when children were playing.

"On both occasions he remained there until caught in the act by staff." He was arrested on the second occasion and interviewed by police.

Miss Richardson said: "He said, despite his home address being less than a minute's walk away, he had been caught short, desperate to use the lavatory. He then shook his penis to clean it and it became sore and he said he relieved the soreness by shaking it more with his hand."

Amin pleaded guilty to two offences of outraging public decency. Because of time served on remand, he was given an 18-month community order with rehabilitation. He was also told to sign the sex offenders register for five years and was given a sexual harm prevention order for the same period which bans him from waiting outside any school or educational facility for under-18s.
