Two women assaulted in Ashington pub by man in 20s after ice cubes thrown at drinkers

At around 9.30pm on Friday, November 15, police received a report that two people had been assaulted in the Shakespeare Inn Pub, in the Guide Post area of Ashington.
It was reported that a man has thrown ice cubes at a number of other people in the pub. When confronted, the male offender became aggressive and assaulted two women by punching them, causing facial injuries.
The victims attended hospital for treatment and were later discharged. Enquiries are ongoing and today (Wednesday) officers are appealing to the public for further information that could assist with their enquiries.
The offender is described as a white male of stocky build, around 5ft 7in tall, in his 20s with short fair hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black bottoms.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the premises at the time and may have witnessed the assaults.
