The latest on missing boy Kyran Durnin after search of his former home ends

Gardaí have completed the search of the former family home of Kryan Durning, the eight year old boy that is missing but presumed dead.

Gardaí searched the home, garden and nearby wasteland of the terraced home in Dundalk, Co. Louth. Results of the search are not being released for operational purposes, Gardaí have said.

The three-day search ended at about 3pm today (Thursday), however members of the forces remained on site until after the digger and other equipment were taken away.

The search operation was launched on Tuesday after gardaí took procession of the home at Emer Terrace on Monday following a court ordered search warrant.

Today's part of the search operation focused on an area of wasteland located behind the back gardens of the row of terraced houses. Members of the Garda Technical Bureau could be seen carrying chainsaws into this relatively small patch of wasteland this morning before shrubbery was cut back and disposed of in a skip.

In an appeal this evening, gardaí urged anyone who may have any information to contact investigators.

It said: "Do not rule out any information that you may have. Please do not assume that the investigation team know the information that you may have.

"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, will be welcomed by the investigation team. This information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
