  • A €400 Disability Support Payment will be paid next month to people with disabilities.
  • Also secured as part of the Budget was a €300 Fuel Allowance Lump Sum Payment . This will be paid on the week commencing 4th November to over 387,000 households.

Before the lump sums are paid, there is also an October bonus, where those in receipt of a number of social welfare payments will be paid double their weekly rate.

Qualifying recipients were expecting to start receiving their double payment from the week starting Monday, 28 October, however, this won’t be the case anymore.

It was confirmed that due to the Bank Holiday, people will receive their cash boost earlier.

The Department of Social Protection issued a statement updating the payment timeline for the October bonus.

They said: “Monday October 28 is a Bank Holiday and as a result, any Social Welfare payments due to be in your account on Monday 28 October will now be paid on Friday 25 October instead. Payments will be paid as normal on Tuesday 29 October.”
