Miracle hair towel cuts down drying time while offering damage protection

The whole range from STRAAND treats hair and scalp health as top priority, which coincidentally makes your regime much simpler

We've all done it... Been in a rush, clambered out of the shower and grabbed the nearest (clean enough) towel to wrap up our sopping locks without much thought. But what if there was a way to make the hair drying process quicker and easier - and it all boiled down to the towel...

That's where haircare brand STRAAND comes in, with a whole range that treats hair and scalp health as top priority, they say it's time to stop neglecting the skin on your head and embrace a new beauty routine that makes you feel good from root to tip.

As someone with coloured hair, I'm often trying to treat my dry hair, whilst finding the right balance between a moisturised and greasy scalp, so when STRAAND got in touch to sample the range, I jumped at the chance.

On first impressions, STRAAND has nailed its branding, a beautiful cloud print box landed on my doorstep and I couldn't wait to unveil the goodies inside. All of the products look stylish and well-packaged, with sky blue and STRAAND's signature pops of bright orange.

I received the blue XL Satin Scrunchie (£8) – which, with its silky texture, promises to protect against breakage. As a big fan of the revival of the scrunchie we've been witnessing over the past few years, I couldn't wait to get this in my hair. I found it to be tight enough so that it didn't need to be wrapped around more than twice and had a decent hold, whilst being comfortable and the soft material meant my hair wasn't pulled or snagged.

STRAAND Claw Clip

Another winner for holding the hair back is the Claw Clip (£9). With short but thick hair, I have struggled in the past to find a clip strong enough to hold, but with a unique curvy design, in STRAAND’s signature orange, this claw clip kept my hair in place throughout the day and night.

The Exfoliating Scalp Brush (£14) helps to exfoliate the scalp to remove dead skin, product build-up, boost scalp circulation, and help massage product in. While the Detangler Comb (£12), with its wide tooth design, helps to detangle hair gently to avoid breakage.

The concept of the Crown Companion Cleansing Pre-Wash Scalp Oil was pretty new to me, STRAAND describes it as being like an oil cleanser for your scalp, with nourishing squalane oil, jojoba oil and rosemary extract to help remove product build up, cleanse and restore hydration. While I'm not someone with scalp problems, I enjoyed the experience of the pre-wash and it left my head feeling clean after just the first use.

In a similar oil-type formula, the The Crown Fix Scalp Serum provides a similarly luxurious feeling, designed to help soothe dry and itchy scalps, which is often the unfortunate by-product of heat styling, chemical bleaching, braids, cornrows and permanent colour treatments. This serum is somewhat of a multitasker and can also be used to help slick back buns, without making the hair look greasy. Upon application it feels instantly cooling and soothing without feeling greasy and made my hair appear healthier after just a few uses.

The product I was most excited to try, with its promise to cut drying time in half, was the Microfibre Hair Towel (£24). Its microfibre design and elastic strap created a much firmer hold on the hair than a normal towel and was much lighter, meaning that getting dressed and doing makeup wasn't the usual balancing act.

I found the towel to be highly absorbent but soft and gentle, and very generously sized, so while I've got shorter hair, can appreciate the impact on longer locks. Its white, waffle material type design also has a luxurious hotel-type feel to it, perfect for recreating the spa experience at home.

Overall I've been really impressed with the range from STRAAND, it's great to see a brand putting head and hair health at the forefront of all of its products. Every product is also free of parabens, sulphates, silicones and vegan-friendly! To see the full range, visit the STRAAND website here.
