Armed robbers of Tachileik phone shop killed and arrested with weapons

Four armed men who robbed a phone shop in Tachileik, eastern Shan State, were shot and dead and captured along with weapons and ammunition, according to the Ministry of Information.

The incident occurred on the November 13 at 10:45 am, when the suspects entered the First Rate Mobile phone shop in Yan Aung Myay ward forcing employees to lie face down. They shot and killed 21- year- old Ko Hein Myat Thu, who was repairing a phone in the back room, and stole 20 iPhones and cash totaling 1.121 million kyats before fleeing.

Following the robbery, security forces launched an investigation and tracked the suspects to a rental house in Wan Kyauklon village, Phanpin village tract, Tachileik Township. When officers attempted to apprehend them, the suspects opened fire. Security forces opened fire , killing the four men and seizing a cache of weapons, including pistols, silencers, ammunition and a vehicle. Additionally, 12 stoledn phones were recovered from the suspects’ possession.

Authorities have confirmed that the suspects were responsible for the robbery and murder. The case remains under investigation, and legal action is being pursued in accordance with the law.
