Authorities seize weapons and ammunition from passenger vehicle at Waw Township X-Ray checkpoint

A person close to the security forces said that during the X-ray examination of the goods loaded on the small passenger vehicle named “Theingi Aung”, which was driving from Kawkareik town of Kayin State to Yangon, weapons and bullets were found and seized at the Nyaung Kha Shae X-Ray checkpoint at about 2 pm on October 28.
He continued, “Although it is a passenger vehicle, it is a small vehicle that only carries goods. There was a driver and a helper in the vehicle. Weapons and bullets were found inside the vehicle.”
A 40-mm gun, five bullets and 50 380 auto bullets were found inside a white plastic container with a diameter of about 19 inches and a height of about 14 inches closed with a blue lid and mixed with freshwater fish paste in a white plastic container about 28 inches in diameter, which is sealed with yellow tape and lead paper inside a yellow bag with the name and phone numbers of Ko Min Htet (Pyawbye).
When the driver and helper of the vehicle were interrogated about the weapon and ammunition, they testified that they were asked to transport the weapon and ammunition from the Theingi Aung gate at the foot of Htokawko mountain in Kawkareik Township, to the Theingi Aung gate at the Aung Minigalar highway terminal in Yangon, and they testified that it will continue to be transported to Pyawbwe.
On the night of October 23, at the X-ray checkpoint on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road in Bago Region's Waw Township, weapons and bullets were seized from a passenger who was traveling in a “Yarazar Aung” passenger vehicle travelling from Mawlamyine to Mandalay.
