On November 15, 2024, the full moon day of the year 1386, the Eleven Media Group donated cash and kind raised by EMG and other requisites by its employees from various departments to Rector Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vimala and lecturer Sayadaws of the university.
The EMG’s Kathina donation ceremony was graced by the Rector Sayadaw and lecturer Sayadaws of the university, who recited parittas, and 50 invited monks.
The Rector Sayadaw delivered a sermon in commemoration of the donation. There are over 400 monks and nuns studying at Yangon Buddhist University.
On November 10 also, the 16th Kathina robe offering ceremony of the EMG families took place at the storm-resistant Thatdhamanyanthi monastery building in Thagyahinoh Village, Dedaye Township, Pyapon District, Ayeyawady Region.
The ceremony was attended by 40 monks from Thagyahinoh Village and its surrounding areas, who delivered a sermon and recited parittas.
The monastery building in Thagyahinoh Village was constructed as a cyclone shelter and donated by EMG and its friend doctors for villagers in the aftermath of the deadly cyclone Nargis in May 2008.
EMG also held its 9th Kathina robe offering ceremony at Pwinttauk village monastery in Sidoktaya Township, Magway Region on November 3.
Due to the Mong Creek flooding in July 2015, Pwinttauk village monastery, school and houses were flooded. EMG and well-wishers donated rice, edible oil and consumer goods to the village and also built and donated 100 million kyats’ worth of a reinforced concrete monastery.
EMG also donated an ordination hall, a bronze Buddha statue with a throne and a set of 28 Buddha statues.
