Four navy ships from Russia's Pacific Fleet arrived in Myanmar for the second joint Myanmar-Russia naval exercise.

On the morning of October 23, Myanmar Navy vessels departed from Thilawa Port to join the Russian ships in preparation for the exercise.

The opening ceremony for the joint naval security exercise took place on October 22 at Thiri Maha Zeya Kyaw Htin Hall, within the Naval Training Command. Senior officials from Myanmar's Tatmadaw (Navy), the Russian Navy, the Russian military attaché to Myanmar, and other invitees attended the event, and a group photo was taken to mark the occasion.

During their stay in Myanmar, the Russian delegation visited notable sites in Yangon, participated in friendly sports matches, toured naval vessels from both countries, and attended various social events. The joint fleet then sailed to designated naval exercise areas for operational drills.

The exercises, running from October 20 to 24 in the northern Andaman Sea, will include aerial and underwater operations, as well as live-fire drills. Maritime and airspace warnings have been issued, advising large and small ships to avoid the area within a five-mile radius. Aircraft are also cautioned not to fly below 15,000 feet in the exercise zone.
