Gun attack on Ahyu Taung Village Administrative Office leaves four injured
· Eleven Media Group Co., LtdAt around 9:45 AM on November 23, the administrative office of Ahyu Taung Village in Ye Township was attacked by the Ye Bilu group using small firearms, according to a local resident.
The local resident explained, “The Ye Bilu group drove a white dump truck along the main village road and, upon reaching the front of the administrative office, opened fire with small firearms into the office.”
During the attack on the administrative office by the Ye Bilu group, personnel from the People’s Militia stationed at the Ahyu Taung administrative office returned fire. Following the exchange of gunfire, the Ye Bilu group reportedly fled southward toward Setthweye Village using the inter-village road, the local source added.
The shooting injured U Lin Oo, the 58-year-old administrator of Ahyu Taung Village, who sustained one bullet wound to the neck, one to the abdomen, one penetrating wound to the right forearm, and one entry wound to the left arm. Additionally, a 27-year-old People’s Militia member named Naung Naung was wounded in the right thigh.
Furthermore, during the incident, a 53-year-old local resident named U Aung Win, who was near the administrative office, suffered one entry wound to his right hip, while another 53-year-old resident, Daw Myint San, sustained one entry wound to her left knee. According to accounts from locals, both individuals were at the administrative office at the time to collect donations.
