A young man, approximately 20 years old, who had gone missing midway up Zwekapin Mountain was found alive at the foot of the mountain, according to local sources.

On the night of November 23, around 10 PM, locals from Khalaukno Village at the base of Zwekapin Mountain found a motorcycle. Nearby, at a cliff near the Shwe Intone Camp on the mountain trail, they discovered a mobile phone, motorcycle keys, and a pair of shoes but no sign of the individual. The locals reported the situation to social rescue teams and began a search operation, according to a local resident.

The search efforts led to the discovery of the young man around 11:30 PM near the foot of the mountain. He was found alive but with a head injury.

The local resident added, “Around 11:30 PM, while firefighters, rescue teams, and locals were jointly searching, they found a young man who reportedly jumped from the cliff. He was alive but had a head injury.”

The spot where the young man went missing, near Shwe Intone Camp, is approximately 100 feet above the foot of the mountain. After being rescued, the local social aid group transported him to the People’s Hospital in Hpa-An.

The young man is from the Ayeyawady Region and had come to Hpa-An, Karen State, to work at a tea shop frying snacks. Authorities are investigating the reasons behind his jump from the midpoint of the Zwekapin Mountain trail.
