Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries following Tipperary assault as gardai issue appeal

A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries following an assault in Co Tipperary at lunchtime on Thursday (October 24).

Gardaí and emergency rushed to the scene of the attack in the Corville area in Roscrea at approximately 1pm yesterday.

Following the incident, one person was taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.

Gardaí have launched a full investigation into the incident and a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed.

No arrests have been made to date and Garda enquiries are ongoing.

Gardai have now issued an appeal for witnesses, particularly those who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident, to make contact with authorities.

In a statement, a garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for any members of the public who were in the Corville area of Roscrea from 12pm to 1.30pm on Thursday, October 24, and who may have witnessed this incident to make contact with them, including anyone with mobile phone or dash-cam footage.

"Gardaí can be contacted at the Nenagh Garda Station on 067 50450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

"Investigation is ongoing."
