Two men have been arrested in connection with the sudden death of a young woman in a Belfast nightclub over the weekend.

Chloe Ferris, from West Belfast, was tragically found dead at Lux nightclub on Dunbar Street in the city in the early hours of Sunday morning, December 1.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to attend to two women who were unconscious, reports Belfast Live. Another woman was discovered alongside Ms Ferris and subsequently received hospital treatment. The PSNI has since confirmed the arrest of two men on suspicion of drug-related offences. Both individuals have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

In a statement, a PSNI spokesperson said: "Police investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman in her 20s at a night club in Belfast city centre during the early hours of Sunday, 1st December, have made two arrests as part of their enquiries."

The statement added: "The men, both aged in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of drug related offences. They have since been released on police bail to allow for further enquiries. Police are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have any information which could assist with the investigation to contact them on 101, or submit information online via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

Authorities have conducted a post-mortem examination on Ms Ferris and are working to establish the cause of death. Tributes have been paid to Chloe Ferris from family and friends following her death, with her primary school, St Clare's Primary School, remembering her as "bubbly and bright".

While she was in secondary school, she started her own business, Chloe's Beauty, and in September had a "full circle moment" when she visited her former school St Louise's to discuss with A-Level students how she started her own business at a young age.
