Man hospitalised after van overturns on N1 in morning time collision
by Cathal Ryan · Irish MirrorA man has been hospitalised after a van he was travelling in overturned on the N1 towards Donabate on Tuesday morning.
Gardaí and emergency services, including firefighters and paramedics attached to Finglas and Kilbarrack along with an Emergency Tender from Phibsborough, rushed to the scene of the single vehicle collision at 10:30am.
The collision occurred on the N1 towards Donabate between the Seatown roundabout and the M1 Junction 4.

The man was rushed to the hospital for treatment, with Gardaí confirming the road has since reopened following the collision, and that investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed on social media: “Firefighter/Paramedics from Finglas and Kilbarrack along with an Emergency Tender from Phibsborough and a District Officer from Finglas are responding to a road traffic collision on the N1 towards Donobate between the Seatown roundabout and the M1 Junction 4”.
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí and Emergency Services attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred this morning at approximately 10.30am.
“One man has been taken to hospital for treatment. The road has since been cleared. Investigations are ongoing.”
Meanwhile, Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 20s was left in a critical condition in hospital after a serious road traffic accident involving an electric motorbike on Monday evening.
The incident occurred on the Kilmallock Road (Old Cork Road) in Limerick city at approximately 7.10pm on Monday, 16 December.
A man in his 20s who was travelling on an electric motorbike was discovered on the road with serious injuries. He was removed to University Hospital Limerick before subsequently being transferred to Cork University Hospital for treatment. Gardaí have described his condition as “critical”.
